Vantron Launches New SMARC Modules Powered by NXP i.MX 9 Series and Rockchip RK3568

Vantron is excited to unveil three new SMARC modules of the system-on-module family: the VT-SBC-SMARC-IMX95, VT-SBC-SMARC-IMX91, and VT-SBC-SMARC-3568. Built on the SMARC 2.1 form factor, these modules are powered by the NXP i.MX 9 series and the Rockchip RK3568 processors, bringing developers enhanced performance, scalability, and power efficiency for a wide range of embedded and edge applications, including AI, IoT, industrial automation, digital signage, and multimedia systems.
VT-SBC-SMARC-IMX95: High-Performance AI Module for Industrial Edge
The VT-SBC-SMARC-IMX95 IMX SMARC Module harnesses the power of the NXP i.MX 9596 processor, featuring a hexa-core ARM Cortex-A55 CPU, a high-performance ARM Cortex-M7 real-time MCU, and a lower-power ARM Cortex-M33 safety MCU. It integrates the eIQ® Neutron NPU with up to 2 TOPS AI acceleration and an advanced ARM Mali GPU, delivering strong computing and graphics performance for demanding use cases such as visual inspection, anomaly detection, medical monitoring, and building automation.
To address the growing need for high-resolution multimedia, the module supports 4K@60Hz H.265/H.264 video encoding and decoding, along with versatile display outputs including LVDS, MIPI DSI, and HDMI 2.0 via MIPI-to-HDMI conversion. Camera connectivity is enabled through MIPI CSI interfaces, making the module well-suited for digital signage, interactive kiosks, and medical imaging systems.
For connectivity, the VT-SBC-SMARC-IMX95 SMARC AI Module provides three Ethernet ports—two 1GbE and one 10GbE—for high-bandwidth data transfer. With broad I/O support and seamless compatibility with the i.MX 95 series, this module enables faster time-to-market for industrial solutions.
VT-SBC-SMARC-IMX91: Secure and Efficient Module for Commercial and Industrial Automation
The VT-SBC-SMARC-IMX91 is built on the NXP i.MX 91 single-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor, optimized for IoT edge, smart home devices, and industrial automation. Despite its compact profile, it delivers energy-efficient performance, advanced security features, and rich interfaces, helping customers design reliable connected systems at low development cost and short design cycles.
It supports a comprehensive set of industrial interfaces, including CAN, I²C, UART, USB 2.0, GPIO, and SDIO, while dual gigabit Ethernet ensures stable connectivity. With an industrial-grade temperature range of -40℃ to 85℃, the computer-on-module for industrial automation deliver real-time processing, reliable design, and long-term availability even in harsh environments.
VT-SBC-SMARC-3568: AI Acceleration Module for Multimedia and Edge AI
The VT-SBC-SMARC-3568 AI Edge Computing Module is powered by the Rockchip RK3568 quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor with an integrated ARM Mali-G52 GPU and a built-in NPU delivering up to 1 TOPS AI performance. Combining energy efficiency with robust processing power, it is designed for applications that demand both AI-driven intelligence and high-quality multimedia processing.
Supporting 4K video decoding, 1080p@60fps video encoding, and up to three independent displays via HDMI 2.0, eDP, and MIPI DSI/LVDS, the module ensures excellent visual output. Its 8MP ISP with HDR, 3A, CGC, 3DNR/2DNR, sharpening, and dehazing algorithms further enhances image quality, making it highly effective for digital signage, smart retail, surveillance, and industrial HMI systems.
For connectivity, the VT-SBC-SMARC-3568 provides dual Ethernet interfaces (10/100/1000Mbps) and a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo module for wireless communication. Rich I/O signals enable flexible system expansion, ensuring smooth integration into edge computing, multimedia, and industrial applications.
