New Products | Vantron Launches IBOXG520 and IBOXG720 for Power-Efficient Edge AI Applications
2026/09/24
As computer vision, local analytics, and intelligent interaction move closer to field devices, industrial systems need more AI performance without the power consumption and deployment complexity of large GPU-based computers. A practical edge AI platform must also connect to existing automation equipment, support modern multimedia workloads, and remain stable across extended operating conditions.
Vantron Technology introduces the IBOXG520 and IBOXG720 edge AI embedded industrial computers. Based on the MediaTek MT8371 and MT8391 platforms respectively, both systems combine octa-core processing, a MediaTek 8th-gen NPU, 4K multimedia capabilities, industrial I/O, and flexible installation in a compact, fanless architecture.

IBOXG520 for Efficient AI Inference and Connected Edge Applications
The IBOXG520 is designed to provide balanced computing performance for edge AI, industrial automation, smart transportation, mobile robots, machine vision, and interactive terminals. Its MediaTek MT8371 processor combines two Cortex-A78 performance cores with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores.
1. Integrated 9 TOPS AI Performance: The MediaTek 8th-gen NPU delivers up to 9 TOPS for local inference, allowing applications such as image classification, object detection, anomaly identification, and intelligent interaction to run at the edge with less dependence on cloud processing.
2. 4K Video and Graphics Processing: An Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and dedicated multimedia engine support 4K video H.265/H.264 encoding and H.265/H.264/VP9 decoding. DisplayPort 1.4 output supports resolutions up to 4K at 60 Hz for high-resolution monitoring and interactive displays.
3. Rich Industrial Connectivity: Gigabit Ethernet with TSN support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, dual RS232, dual RS485, CAN FD, GPIO, USB, and Micro SD enable the system to connect with controllers, sensors, displays, and industrial peripherals.
4. Low-Power, Wide-Temperature Design: With a maximum full-load power consumption of 10 W, 12–24 V DC input, wall- or DIN-rail mounting, and an optional operating range from -40°C to +85°C, the IBOXG520 supports compact and energy-conscious industrial deployments.
IBOXG720 for Higher CPU and Graphics Performance at the Edge
The IBOXG720 is based on the MediaTek MT8391 and retains the same compact industrial architecture and 9 TOPS AI acceleration while increasing CPU and GPU performance. It is suited to applications that combine AI inference with more demanding application processing, visualization, or multi-service workloads.
1. Higher-Performance Octa-Core Processing: Two Cortex-A78 cores run at up to 2.6 GHz alongside six Cortex-A55 cores, providing stronger performance for responsive human-machine interfaces, local data processing, application multitasking, and AI-assisted automation.
2. AI Acceleration Without a Discrete GPU: Its integrated 9 TOPS NPU runs edge inference within a low-power system architecture. This makes the IBOXG720 a practical option for applications that require more intelligence than a conventional gateway but do not need the footprint or power envelope of a discrete GPU computer.
3. Industrial Multimedia and Device Integration: The platform supports 4K video encoding and decoding, DisplayPort 1.4 output up to 4K at 60 Hz, Gigabit Ethernet with TSN, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, RS232, RS485, CAN FD, GPIO, and multiple USB connections.
4. Flexible Software and Installation: Android 16 and Linux Yocto support give developers options for interactive applications and embedded Linux deployments. The system supports wall and DIN-rail mounting, operates from a 12–24 V DC input, and is available with extended-temperature configurations.
Both models include 8 GB LPDDR5 memory and 64 GB UFS 2.2 storage and share a consistent mechanical and I/O design. This gives developers a straightforward way to select the required CPU performance while retaining the same 9 TOPS AI capability and industrial integration features.
