Background

A U.S.-based amusement terminal manufacturer planned to develop a next-generation dual-display interactive gaming terminal for deployment in entertainment venues. The device was required to support interactive user experiences, advertising content presentation, and remote operation management while improving user engagement and reducing deployment and maintenance costs. The key requirements included:

1. High-performance embedded computing: Support Android applications and multimedia processing to deliver powerful graphics processing and video decoding capabilities while maintaining low power consumption, efficient thermal management, and reliable 24/7 operation.

2. Dual-display capability with flexible peripheral integration: Support independent dual-display output and rich I/O expansion capabilities to connect peripherals such as touch screens, scanners, cameras, and audio devices, along with reliable wired and wireless connectivity for network communication and remote management.

3. Centralized remote management and lifecycle operation: Simplify maintenance with a centralized management platform capable of enabling remote application deployment, content updates, system upgrades, and device status monitoring across distributed entertainment terminals.

Solution

Vantron developed an integrated solution for computing, display and remote management based on the VT-SBC35-G1200 single board computer, TMO series industrial touch displays, and BlueSphere MDM platform.

1. High-Performance Embedded Computing Platform for Multimedia Processing

Vantron provides the VT-SBC35-G1200 single board computer as the core computing platform for the entertainment terminal. Powered by the MediaTek Genio 1200 processor, the SBC features an octa-core ARM architecture processor, integrated Mali-G57 GPU, and 4.8 TOPS of AI acceleration capabilities, delivering powerful computing performance for interactive applications, high-definition video playback, and graphics rendering.

For display and peripheral integration, the VT-SBC35-G1200 provides multiple display interfaces, including HDMI and DisplayPort, enabling independent dual-display output. The platform also offers rich I/O interfaces, including USB, serial ports, UART, SPI, I²C, and GPIO, allowing flexible integration with touch screens, cameras, scanners, and other peripheral devices. With Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, the platform enables reliable network communication and seamless connection with cloud-based device management systems.

2. Industrial Touch Displays Enhancing User Interaction Experience

To meet the visual and interactive requirements for amusement application deployment, Vantron provided TMO series open-frame touchscreen monitors, including the TMO270 and TMO550 deployed for this project.

Featuring Full HD resolution displays and 10-point PCAP capacitive touch technology, the displays deliver responsive and accurate touch interaction. The displays also support flexible installation options, including VESA mounting and side-bracket integration, enabling easy customization and integration into different terminal designs.

3. BlueSphere MDM Enables Remote Device Operation and Content Management

To simplify the management of large-scale deployed entertainment terminals, Vantron’s BlueSphere MDM provides cloud-based device management capabilities. Through the BlueSphere MDM, operators can remotely deploy applications, manage software versions, and perform OTA updates without onsite intervention. The kiosk lockdown feature restricts device operation to designated applications, improving system security and ensuring reliable terminal operation.

For dual-display entertainment terminals, BlueSphere MDM enables independent management of primary and secondary display content. Operators can remotely update the interactive entertainment application running on the primary display while managing promotional videos and advertising content displayed on the secondary screen.

Benefits

Through Vantron’s integrated solution combining embedded computing, industrial touch displays, and cloud-based device management, the customer successfully developed a next-generation dual-display interactive entertainment terminal for amusement venues.

The solution enhanced user engagement by deploying the dedicated interactive application on the primary display, paired with commercial content presentation on the secondary display. Powered by BlueSphere MDM, the system significantly reduced operational costs through remote application management, OTA updates, and centralized device maintenance.

Leveraging Vantron’s mature hardware platforms and software ecosystem, the solution helped accelerate product development, shorten time-to-market, and support scalable deployment of entertainment terminals.
