Background
The client specializes in life sciences and is dedicated to developing molecular diagnostic products for clinical applications. They aimed to build a high-performance display and control platform with the following requirements:
1. Customized motherboard to be integrated into the existing mechanical design.
2. Compact 3.5-inch board with diverse I/Os to handle complex IVD system interactions.
3. Support for 10.1”, 12”, and 15.6” display types with different interfaces.
4. Full system compliant with ISO13485 medical standard.

Solution
Following multiple rounds of technical discussions and requirement alignment, Vantron delivered a rapid validation and customized development solution based on its in-house Rockchip RK3568 Single Board Computer, enabling fast project ramp-up and reliable product deployment.
1. Early-Stage Validation to Quickly Lock Down the Platform
Vantron provided standard motherboard samples for early functional verification, allowing the customer to evaluate system and driver compatibility, as well as DEMO application performance. The validation results demonstrated stable and reliable operation, laying a solid technical foundation for subsequent customization and mass production.
2. Precision Mechanical Design for Maximum Space Utilization
To address the customer’s stringent requirements for both form factor and interface density, Vantron carried out a highly refined board layout and mechanical design optimization. By fully utilizing the available structural space, the solution ensures seamless integration into the customer’s enclosure while also simplifying system assembly and installation.
3. Flexible Interface Layout Supporting Multiple Display Types
Through careful optimization of the motherboard edge (“coastline”) layout, interfaces were strategically distributed across all four sides of the board to maximize I/O availability. To accommodate three different display interface options—each serving a dedicated application scenario—a multi-path interface selection design was implemented, enabling full functional coverage within a highly space-constrained design.
4. Professional EMI Design and Certification Readiness
Leveraging extensive experience in EMC/EMI design for embedded and medical-grade devices, Vantron conducted comprehensive pre-compliance testing and implemented sufficient design margins at the system level. This proactive approach ensures smooth passage through ISO13485 medical device certification processes, significantly accelerating time-to-market and large-scale deployment.

In addition, Vantron provided display panel selection recommendations and corresponding validation services, helping the customer quickly finalize the complete system configuration and further improve overall development efficiency.
