Background
The client is a comprehensive real estate construction company specializing in developing industrial, commercial, and residential projects. Seeking to streamline on-site inspections, they aimed to upgrade their existing HUD wearable device with a focus on lightweight and compact design—key requirements to improve operator comfort and enable extended field use.

Solution
To meet the rigorous demands of on-site construction for portability and real-time processing, Vantron developed a customized, ultra-compact Edge AI Computing Platform based on the Rockchip RV1126/RK3576 series.
1. Extreme Spatial Optimization: Addressing the stringent internal constraints of HUD wearables, Vantron implemented a high-precision multi-layer PCB stack design. This innovative architecture maximizes functional density within a minimal footprint, directly fulfilling the client’s requirement for a lightweight and compact form factor without compromising computing power.
2. Edge AI-Powered Inspection: Equipped with a high-performance NPU, the solution enables real-time edge computing for tasks such as personnel recognition, PPE (Hard Hat) detection, and hazard identification. Enhanced by a 14M ISP with 3F HDR technology, the device captures crystal-clear, high-dynamic-range imagery even in the challenging lighting conditions of construction sites.
3. Comprehensive Connectivity & Synergy: Featuring integrated Wi-Fi 6, BT 5.4, and multi-band GNSS, the solution ensures millisecond-level data synchronization with local Box PCs and cloud platforms, facilitating seamless on-site data acquisition and remote management.
4. Ultra-Low Power Consumption: By leveraging a low-power hardware architecture combined with Vantron’s proprietary power-management algorithms, the system extends battery life to over 8 hours of continuous operation, ensuring a full day of uninterrupted field use for inspectors.

Benefits
By utilizing stacked PCBs with an optimized layout, the design achieves a compact form factor that seamlessly integrates into the HUB. Software optimizations further enhance efficiency by automatically suspending non-critical services during idle periods, enabling ultra-low-power operation. In addition, close collaboration with the client’s mechanical team allowed Vantron to refine the product structure, supporting multi-functional integration without compromising performance. Following successful pilot testing, 200 units were ordered, with annual deliveries projected to reach 5,000 units, demonstrating both the solution’s scalability and market potential.
